From blank and boring to bold and beautiful
This tiny bathroom makeover proves that even the smallest spaces can have the biggest impact
This room started as a plain white box with tired vinyl flooring and no character. It was the kind of space you walk into and immediately walk out of again — functional, but forgettable. I wanted to change that. I wanted a room that felt intentional, cosy, and full of personality, even if it was only a few square feet.
The first step was embracing colour. Deep green walls instantly added depth and warmth, turning the room from cold to cocoon‑like. Then came the patterned tiles — a small detail with a huge payoff. They brought texture, contrast, and a little bit of playfulness.
To soften the bold colour, I layered in natural elements: trailing greenery, a simple reed diffuser, and a potted plant on the floor. These touches lifted the space and made it feel alive. The ornate mirror added a hint of vintage charm, bouncing light around and making the room feel bigger than it is.
Lighting was the final piece. A warm, textured ceiling light transformed the atmosphere completely, giving the room a soft glow that feels welcoming at any time of day.
What was once a bland, boxy room is now a tiny sanctuary — proof that you don’t need a big budget or a big space to create something beautiful. You just need vision, a few bold choices, and the courage to break away from “safe” white walls.

How to go from cluttered to calm in a small hallway
Sometimes it’s the smallest spaces in a home that quietly collect clutter and start to feel untidy. This little hallway corner had gradually become a drop-zone for post, shoes and everyday items. While practical, the open table made the space feel busy and disorganised.
I wanted to create something that felt calmer and more welcoming when walking through the door, without making any major changes to the room.
The solution was surprisingly simple.
I replaced the open table with a closed cabinet to hide everyday clutter, and added two floating shelves above to make better use of the vertical wall space.
A small lamp provides warm lighting in the evening, while a few carefully chosen accessories — candles and small plants — bring softness and texture.
The result is a hallway corner that feels far more intentional and organised. Instead of being a cluttered drop-zone, it has become a small styled moment within the entrance to the home.
It’s a reminder that thoughtful changes, even in the smallest areas, can completely change how a space feels. Click on Shop Finds for the link to create this look.
